If you are ever curious to see the source of your escort website pages, simply click CTRL+U. You'll see headings and lines and comments and tags, but don't let all that HTML code scare you, it's all there with the single purpose of making your escort site look as awesome as you want it to be. Today we are going to cover the headings in HTML and what good can they do to your website, if you learn to use them correctly. Headings contain information about the current document, such as its title and keywords that may be useful to search engines. Headings are defined with the < h1 > to < h6 > tags, in the order of importance (< h1 > defines the most important heading, < h6 > defines the least important heading) and are used to: - show document structure (think of all the users that just skim the text on your pages) - index the structure and content of your web pages (search engines use your headings to do that) - keep a clean code (this generally passes as web etiquette or the sign of a trusted brand with a proper behavior online)
Don't use headings to make text BIG or bold. In fact, make sure you check the following tips next time you set up the headings on your escort site: - each page has at least one heading: use headings consistently throughout the site - headings are short and concise (easy to be scanned) - there is only one H1 heading per page - H1 heading is the first heading on the page - H1 heading contains the main keyword of the page (all other headings are subheadings and connected with the previous level heading) - don't skip heading levels (from H1 to H3, for instance) Stay tuned, next week we are going to show you exactly how to use headings when editing the pages of your escort site. Keep in touch, Alexey
